Direct Hazmat Consultants are an independent company not associated with asbestos removal. Our asbestos surveys are conducted according to the WorkSafe 2016 Good Practice Guidelines “Conducting Asbestos Surveys”. DHC can provide asbestos surveys tailored to meet your requirements. These can include asbestos management surveys, refurbishment & demolition surveys. In some premises, a mixture of survey types can also be appropriate. DHC only use IANZ accredited laboratories for their asbestos analysis.
The purpose of an asbestos management survey is to systematically identify and manage all asbestos. A management survey is the standard survey carried out to support the workplace PCBU in identifying asbestos in the workplace. DHC will formulate a management survey report which includes an asbestos register detailing the asbestos location, whether its confirmed or assumed asbestos, the extent, product type, condition, surface treatment and accessibility. This information can be used to formulate your asbestos management plan.
Asbestos Management Plans
The Asbestos Regulations 2016 place a duty on businesses to have asbestos management plans in place for their buildings and workplaces where asbestos is likely to be found. An asbestos management plan sets out where any identified asbestos or asbestos containing material is and how it will be managed. Let us provide you with a survey and assist you in preparing a plan.
Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys
The purpose of asbestos refurbishment and demolition surveys is to locate all the asbestos present before any refurbishment or demolition work commences. It is a disruptive and fully intrusive survey which may need to penetrate parts of the building. Aggressive techniques are used to lift carpets and tiles, break through walls, ceilings, cladding, partitions and open up floors.
